I watched Hope Solo walk out to the goal for the start of penalty kicks and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I was sitting in Carmichael. She was in Germany. I can only imagine how she felt. As my Mom would have said, "Bless her little heart."
Please, Dear God, if I am to come back in some future incarnation, please don't make me a goalie with the World Cup on the line at the start of penalty kicks.
Can I get an "Amen?"

Nope... no "Amens" for you. You would have found a way to settle yourself and the rest of your team down and go for it just like all the kids you coached in baseball. You would have spoke to them with confidence in their abilities and then told them a little joke to calm them. Yup, you woulda, coulda.
